Spring 2017 (Marrakesh and Sahara Desert) - If you ever read The Alchemist, this book summed up the trip! It is one of Dee and Noble Dre* Ali’s favorite books about life journey. In the book a young boy learns to listen to his heart and follow the language of omens. Africa is the most beautiful place on earth. It is worth seeing in a lifetime, and especially with family.
Sahara Desert, Morocco was such a spiritual retreat for us.
Morocco here we come! Fun fact: Morocco is about the same size as California.
Morocco is quite a mountainous country with the Atlas Mountains running from northeast to the southwest through the center and the Rif Mountains located in the north.
This was a journey that spoke to our soul.
Morocco is home to beautiful mountains, winding souks, garden oases, and the best spas in the world.
Our Airbnb was safe and our host was very helpful. Breakfast was included in our stay.

The Medina is where everything happens! Be careful, there are a lot of scammers looking for travelers to take advantage of. The best way to move around is in the local dress. The currency in Morocco is called the Dirham.

The official languages of Morocco are Berber and Arabic. The Berber people have been living in North Africa for centuries.
This is the only symbol in the Moroccan alphabet that means freedom. It was everywhere we looked, painted on homes and alike.
The best prices are in the villages, and its ok to talk down the prices.

A camel ride in the desert is the way to travel. Wearing a scarf is mandatory to protect your face from the strong winds - it’s serious out here!
The largest is the Sahara Desert, a subtropical desert in northern Africa. It covers a surface area of about 3.5 million square miles.
